Amigurumi

Wait! These are NOT origami! 

No, they are not. I only recently learned about amigurumi (what a fun name!), a Japanese style of crocheting in spirals to make stuffed creatures or plushies. In the same way that origami folds a 2-dimensional paper into a 3-dimensional shape, amigurumi weaves a linear strand of yarn into a 3-dimensional shape. How could I not explore that? This, of course, led to using a new medium to design and make creatures with a story to tell. Bringing yarn to life.
